#147383 - I have new worries now Responding to: ???'s previous message |

So that means NO, right? (see the AND?) Right. If no such thing exists, why worry about it? No reason. I was worrying about it before I realized my part didn't have internal tristate buffers. Now that you and Mike have pointed that out, I have discovered new and diverse things to worry about. For outside help with the problem you're working, I'd be looking at the various RLL encoder/decoder SPLD's published out on the www, for a bit of "spiritual guidance" about how one might encode/decode a code with variable character length. Although it may appear otherwise, I'm not really all that interested in the problem of decoding Morse code. That just seemed like a reasonably sized project with about the right complexity for a first FPGA project. One of my new worries is whether the second project I have in mind might be a little too ambitious. On the surface, I think it is. But there may be some opportunity for a "divide and conquer" approach that will make it manageable. Again, more to follow when I'm a little further along. -- Russ |
