Hi Sanjeev,

in the master mode SS was ignored and can be used as independend port pin (P1.4).
I used always SPI only as master to control shiftregisters and serial ADC and DAC.

There is a nice shiftregister TPIC6B595N similiar the 74LS595 but with open drain outputs 50V / 0.5A !
