#100406 - F120 overkill Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I know Erik doesn't like my proposal, but I think the SiLabs F12x is overkill. IMHO SiLabs F300 or F330 is good enough. It's still a 1 clocker, it has 3 PCA channels for PWM, it runs at 24.5MHz without external oscillator and can handle 115k2 at the uart. If all you need to do is receive new setpoints and send them to the PWM channels it will suffice. And finally, all SiLabs mcu's can be debugged in system without expensive ICE. The DevKit is only $99 and they sell DIP packages for prototyping.
On the other hand if you want to build only one system, have a look at their C8051F064EK Evaluation kit which is only $25. They've put the usb debug adapter on the board, so you cannot use it for other devices. |
