#101332 - Not 8051?

my board would look, to a PC, like the enveloped USB device and, to the device, like a PC. It will pass through the majority of traffic untouched, but will monitor traffic and intercept/delay some of it..

So, you board needs to perform both Slave and Host functions plus analyse and process the packets!! :-0

This doesn't sound like a job for an 8051 to me! :-(

I think Philips has some USB chips that contain both Host & Device functions, but I think that they're aimed at 16- or 32-bit processors.

With ARM-based microcontrollers now available at prices below some 8051 derivatives, I think that'd be the way to go?
