Atmel names this memory as "Expanded". For example, AT89C51RD2 datasheet says:
• On-chip 1792 bytes Expanded RAM (XRAM)


That's the crux. what do you call "internal external memory"

Atmel, I am sure, still call external memory XRAM, but evidently have decided to add to the confoosion by calling the "internal external memory" by the same name.
