#102976 - smarter? Responding to: ???'s previous message |

My usual recommendation: first, throw away Flip/FlashMagic/whatever_software_supposed_to_be_smarter_than_you.
Flash Magic doesn't pretend or make any claims to be smarter than a human being. :) But Flash Magic/Flip/etc help with is avoiding all the little "gotchas" that can be hard for a person to remember all the time for all the devices. Such as combinations that you *could* send to the device in hyperterminal, but the device won't like or won't process in the way you expect. Also Flash Magic, Flip etc. are good at creating and interpreting hex values: showing them in more user-friendly ways and helping to avoid mistakes with accidentally setting the wrong bit. Useful stuff if you ask me. Andy |
