#114022 - it's gotten to be a problem
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Copying, or, more specifically, plagiarism, has gotten to be so much of a problem in high schools and colleges throughout the world, that there are serious software tools being used by departments and professors to ferret out the miscreants who use other people's work as their own.

In technical disciplines, particularly software, those are not so widely avaialble, so students are able to avoid having to code anything that they can find and compile from the www.

That's why everybody likes 'C' program sources so much. True, that's not the only reason, but they're really popular, since assembler is hardly taught at all any longer.

I really don't know how instructors/professors are supposed to deal with code-source plagiarism.

It will probably put more emphasis on in-class tests, which really don't do that much in the way of proving a student's ability to think through a problem.
