#114065 - I think apples and oranges Responding to: ???'s previous message |
If it meets well-specified test criteria, subject to precise testing with predefined instruments, and agreed upon in advance by all parties, then it's easy to get through acceptance testing.
What you state is, of course, the only criteria that can be applied to "acceptance testing". however what I have discussed is "functional testing" Acceptance testing refer to "will message a appear under condition b". Functional testing, which I claim can not be accomplished by "testing", refer to "will there be a hiccup if 3 interrupts coincide while the main is in a given place". Functional testing, as in the example above, can only be accomplished by design, since it is not testable (no budget I have seen allow more cost for testing than design) I think apples and oranges, but in this instance both valuable fruits.
