This is a side comment on the thread, and is not addressed to the OP. As has already been said, if his information IS truly random, it cannot be compressed. Unless he can be much more specific than "random" there IS nothing that can be done, rather as Andy, who knows far more about communication theory than me, has pointed out. Jez is however our resident loony, sorry cryptographic and compression guru, and provided he has taken his dried frog pills or whatever, I look forward to his comments. One method, subject to not having random data is to transmit trends. BTW Do you mean elicit ? Illicit ones are forbidden of course.... Steve |
