Since a dedicated MCU is the recommended solution
The keyboard interrupt mechanism in the LPC makes it possible to let the keyboard routines sleep and thus makes it an option to go back to the one p-rocessor solution. Also a LPC would be an excellent choice for a satelite keyboard processor where the keyboard interrupt could be used or left alone..
