If the volume is low, you're right, the time is probably not terribly significant. However, if the volume is high, the cost IS significant. Just multiply $1 by the 10K units per week ... True enough, though, if one is in high-volume production, the parts are either arriving already programmed, or a parallel programmer is available. They have to be programmed prior to installation, don't they? ISP is fine for field-fixes, etc, but it's not the be-all and end-all, and, unless you're in really low production, almost always the case for me, it's GREAT! RE |
