a lot would depend on what sensors you have. Say you have reed switches and magnets on the windows and doors, when arming the system you would have to check and see that all the windows and doors are closed already. If you had motion detectors, there would have to be a check that there is no motion before arming and if you have to pass motion sensors to get to the panel there should be like a 15 second delay before the alarm sounds to give you time to enter the code. If you have a keycode to enter, I'd say give it 3 attempts before sounding the alarm.
