The FIRST thing I do after constructing a circuit is to verify proper power and ground connections. In fact, I connect power and ground early in the process and verify their integrity before any additional signals are connected. After the circuit it constructed, and before power is applied, I check for continuity of each and every net, particularly power and ground. They do have to be isolated from one another, and they do have to be peresent everywhere they're required.
I don't see how anyone could get into trouble in this way if he has a rigorous approach to circuit construction. That's where the lesson-to-be-learned is found in this thread. RE |
