... but it is easier to be overlooked at a protoboard (especially well after midnight) than if you use some EDA tool.
Recently, wiring up the "central" for my "home ehm automation" on a protoboard I connected one leg of the crystal to GND instead of XTAL1 (they are next to each other on DIL40, both in the corner, and the GND is wired all over the place, anyway). As I said, it was well over midnight and I had only one more night to get it all up and running... (my wife gave me an ultimatum, she needed the lights in the house... :-) JW |
