I can not speak for the latest versions of MSVC.
The library tool patch the binaries together. The link has to pull in whole peices. It can not know what belongs to whath function.
What you are seeing is modules where all the functions get used. That or the defualt for the new MSVC is to to report that warning.
Dlls of course are different.
