#127259 - I have seen NO catches by a checksum Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I have worked and am working with 'inherited' products. Some have checksum verification. I have seen NO catches by a checksum routine in my life (except verification immediately after programming). I have seen chips that 'lost their mind' but none that had enough left to tell.
Erik PS just got a thought. Is it possible that using one of these "wonderful" kitchen table programmers and getting a half charge to the flash capacitors that a checksum routine may be valid there? When charging all marginally, losing just one bit as the first sign of failure may be a possible event. However, when discussing I refer to correctly designed, correctly 'burned' products. Kitchen table programming may be the reason that some still think power up checksum check is valid. |
