for both the 8252 and 8253. There have been a lot of changes to the part over many mask numbers. There is also an appl note on this very subject on one of those two product pages. Summary: use a good external reset/LVI and/or build some redundancy with error checking into the EEPROM code. ESP mag has some good articles on how to do it.
Shorter path is to avoid using those parts where possible. I have a lot fewer hassles with the Philips LPC parts... YMMV. GB |
