for both the 8252 and 8253. There have been a lot of changes to the part over many mask numbers. ..... I have a lot fewer hassles with the Philips LPC parts... YMMV.
do you remember the first 932 ? it changed almost daily, evidently Philips needed some 'feedback' to get ot right. HOWEVER the difference here is that with Atmel, you find the bug and wait for it to show up in the errata, with Philips it is in the errata before you find it. I truly hope (and - maybe foolishly - believe) NXP will keep it that way. Erik |
