You most likely need a microprocessor for this. Most products (like ADAM4520) use dip switches to set baud rate.
I don't think I've ever seen a RS485 device that is auto-baud! Most autobaud schemes I've seen require a known character to be sent. If the device is originally RS232 and you need greater distance, use RS422. You mentioned earlier that the distance was short - why use RS485 then if it causes more problems than it solves? I'm not understanding your motivation for using RS485. |
