You mentioned earlier that the distance was short - why use RS485 then if it causes more problems than it solves? I'm not understanding your motivation for using RS485. Nothing complex. I basically have a panel with multiple processors which are on a RS485 network, receiving commands from a PC Master. I want commands not to reach these RS485 devices in some contexts. All processors are inside a single panel and so distances are within 4-5 metres( depends on cable routing within the panel). I started this thread to find out if the idea of transmit enable with data bit inverted was valid at all or not. Autobaud question was just a 'what if' idea for discussion. I don't really need it at this point of time. Thanks for your opinion. KG |
