#132516 - 56k Modem vs MT8880+TEA1062
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Yes, the idea is to use the microcontroller to send the string of number to be dialled to the MT8880. This number can be changed by the user. For starters, im going to assume the manual voice input using microphone instead of using voice playback chip such as ISD. This audio will be sent through the telephone line to the receiver.

Since MT8880 has only DTMF generation and decoding with no voice input capability, i think TEA1062 is the key to accept voice input.

What i am curious now is that, is it easier to just simplify everything up by using an external 56k modem through a RS232 interface since all i need to do is to issue AT Command directly to the modem to perform dial up, monitor call progress, voice transmission, etc. without worrying about anything else.

In both cases, i still need hint and clues to start off my project because i have absolutely no idea where to begin with :( please help!
