#132846 - So you should know better!

The problem he (http://www.8052.com/forum/read.phtml?id=132474)
is having is common to assembly language programming

So you should know better than to compound the problem!

I don't see how you relate it to my program.

Because you have comitted the same error, and will be causing the same unnecessary hassle to anyone that tries to use it - you have posted code without sufficient information to allow any reader to use it!

I think you are angry with me for drawing attention to a mistake you made in another thread and you want to discredit me.

No - see http://www.8052.com/forum/read.phtml?id=131225

The assembler used is A51.EXE. It is public domain software that has been around for over 15 years.

That doesn't help - Keil's assembler is also called "A51.exe"

I think you have asked about this program (A51.EXE) before

Oh yes - now you mention it, I remember.
I seem to remember it was the same problem - someone (quite possibly not you) was talking about "A51" as if that was a clear and unambiguous designation of one specific product!

so I think you knew the answer to this before you asked the question.

See above - I hadn't actually recalled it.
But that's not the point; you should include this necessary information when code relies upon it.

If I remember correctly, it emerged from the discussion that this particular assembler's syntax is (very?) different from "normal" 8051-style assembler - so it is especially important that you specifically identify it!

As to I must clearly state which tool is required I think you need to understand I don't have to do that!

Sure you don't - but don't then go claiming that you always post complete, ready-to-use code!

I think it is good policy to include that
information. Next time I will include that information.

Excellent!
