I wrote (new emphasis) "The LS is the coolest (temperature, not stupid juvenile slang) TTL gate" CMOS is NOT 'TTL' careful now ... that's not quite the case The LSxxx series was the "coolest" of the bipolar types, aside from the 74Lxxx series, but the 74C, 74AC, 74ACT, 74HC 74HCT, 74HCTLS, 74AHCT, 74FC, 74FCT, and a few others all ran at lower temperature if the clock rates were equal. Even the 74BCT varieties were less prone to heating. |
