#134978 - Re SST89E516RD
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Hi Jan,

I have read your previous comments regarding the SST device, and agree that the datasheet from both SST and NXP are suspiciously similar.

But it's not the kind of thing I want to count on when doing design work. My customers might get a little angry that I made this assumption if their equipment fails.... it could be just a case of a lazy NXP tech writer copying the competitions' data sheet, or vice versa.

I, like you, have not been able to find an active errata sheet for either of these devices.

Maybe Erik is correct, and we have perfect silicon! But, if so, that is something that I have NEVER seen before either.

All of this is making me just a little bit nervous. I would like to use the NXP device and Flash Magic, as it is well supported by ESA, but the Atmel AT89C51RD2/ED2 is at least a "known devil"

My concern here is that Atmel may suddenly discontinue this part.

Atmel has LOUSY documentation in my opinion, but at least they have an errata sheet.
