#134979 - Not the first time Philips have had "perfect silic
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Maybe Erik is correct, and we have perfect silicon! But, if so, that is something that I have NEVER seen before either.

All of this is making me just a little bit nervous. I would like to use the NXP device and Flash Magic, as it is well supported by ESA, but the Atmel AT89C51RD2/ED2 is at least a "known devil"

Not the first time Philips have had "perfect silicon", or, at least, "no known bugs". I have been a Philips fan for years and one thing that, in my opinion, separates them from the flock is honest, timely published errata.

Personally I would take the lack of errata as meaning "no known bugs".

The progression C51Rx2H to C51Rx2 to V51Rx2 may be the very reason for lack of errata, a few bugs were worked out in the predecessors.

As to the Atmel AT89C51RD2/ED2 is at least a "known devil" yes, Atmel is a "known devil" especially for being late and dishonest in publishing errata.

Erik
