What i have in mind is that i would design two separate boards for digital and analog. digital section -which will only have the uc with related circuitry ,this section will be connceted to another board with DAC and ADC on them with the isolators via a FRC connector.
1> do i still need to join the GND 's of these two boards?wont it defeat the purpose of isolation

2> I am still clueless as to the need of isolation in this case since i am designing the two ckts on two separate boards

3> I will be grateful if someone could give me some ref. or link which clarifies the concept of isolation.

4. can i post my schematic in some way so that my idea gets delivered accross better. after all " a picture is worth thousand words"
