... this is why I did not singly waive the case with "use a proper reset IC" (you can see it also as a bow to Richard if you care :-) ).
I mean, I stil DO propose the use of the reset, but the mechanism of failure is not completely clear for me; unless the board is done so that it allows different VCCs momentarily for the mcu and the NVRAM, or the power source is really bouncing hard, or what. As in Richard's case (he used Dallas NVRAMs), this NVRAM has a similar CS gate built in, triggering IIRC at 4.25V min. JW |
