In my scheme i am using a STK200 cable(which i have made by myself).
Microcontroller is interfaced with parallel port via 74HC541 tri state buffer.

Do not build the "cable" yourself, buy it! (STK200 cable is wrong, 74HC541 is wrong)

I have also connected a SPDT switch to EA(External Access) pin so that when i want to program i will turn it to 12v otherwise it is a t 5v.

Heaven, why that?? Have you read any document about ISP-programming so far, or are you blindly guessing??

You cannot take ANY software, combine it with ANY hardware and additionally french-fry the chip with permanent 12V. Read the above link carefully, download the software, buy the "cable" and you will be happy.
