Mike, the KS0108 is nothing like a HD44780 or KS0066. I'd suggest reading the datasheet carefully thus removing the need for any guessing. The bus interface is slow by today's standards, but you don't have the command delays of 100's of uS that the hd44780 has. If I recall correctly, the inter byte delay is around 3.5uS. The chip allows you to poll for ready, but the overhead for that is probably similar to the required delay. |
