I've not started but the BASIC52 board's up and running with terminal. Looking over at "http://www.antona.com/apnote/an1prg.htm" (no advertinsing intended) they show an I^2C sample application for the exact 8052 board. I’d start here and adapt it for SPI, ie. 4-wire serial interface (SPI). Please, I just need a simple BASIC52 code/driver to test the MAX6969 circuitry and therefore understand the SPI interface first—“circuit debugging” if you will, before moving over to the PIC and use "higher" language code or "asm"—I don’t know much about. Thank you for your help.
