#150049 - options are good Responding to: ???'s previous message |

I though about creating something similar in a more general form. I would like not only have a clickey interface, but also a means of textual entry of requirements (of course in some predefined structure, like the windowsey .ini, or XML or something similar). And, I would like to have an option to re-run the code generation as a part of a compilation process. Andrew Ayre said:
The reason we didn't do it this way with Code Architect is because, as Erik pointed out, the generated code is meant to be used as a starting point not final code. Providing the extra step will hurt nothing; contrary, is an option for those who would like to use rapidly modifiable textual input rather than the clickey interface (just an example: for quick modification of baudrate of UART). It allows an engineer to quickly get over the hurdle of understanding the peripherals and focus on developing the application (note that doesn't mean replacing the need to understand the peripherals). Sure. Even more: it should augment the datasheet etc. For this, the clickey interface should be as illustrative and verbose as possible. YMMV. Jan Waclawek |
