I'm being facetious, of course, but a call/email to Silabs with a concise description of your problem will get you the help you need if it's not a case of code-theft.

Further, you should be able to arrive at the point at which your predecessor departed if his documentation was completed and his work product handed in as it should have been.

Of course, if coding preceded documentation, well ... You'll have to find out how to work the Silabs jtag tools.
