#151663 - Quadrature Encoder interfacing |
I'm interfacing to old quadrature encoder with differential outputs. Can I use the MAX485 to read the differential channels?
Any other suggestions for line receiver ic with 2 channels? I have no datasheet for the encoder but the wiring diagram is marked on the encoder itself. To minimize number of chips used can I tie one end of the differential output to Gnd and use the other pin since the distance from the encoder to ucontroller is about 1 meter with sheilded cable? The encoder's Vcc is rated 5VDC. Mahmood |
