I cannot use this for my *current* project because my project(RTC/thermometer) is a b'day gift for my sister and it works fine as of now. Just to replace the current RTC with the PCF8563 is not a practical option at this time. I would have to redesign everything from scratch, dismantle the whole thing and I don't want to do that with her gift :-(. It is already in running condition, albeit using only idle mode.


Yes, I agree, not being able to use a pulse mode /IRQ on the DS12887 really sucks!

Will watch out in future, thanks to your advice!
