1. I mean the screen should continue up to as close as possible to the point of termination of the internal cores, but NOT be connected. Just insulate it. It is connected to the case at entry, of course. An 'emc' cable gland is favourite. I know that theory dictates that once the cores have entered the 'quiet' enclosure, a screen is no longer necessary, but there is still locally generated noise that can be picked up.

2. By definition, a cell mechanically links fixed and moving parts of the weighing structure. You need to mount the cell so that the cable exits from the part that attaches to the fixed structure. Then, loading on the cable cannot affect the moving part.
