Hi,

I used to build & run semi-automatic test equipment for an industrial µC manufacturer, & the original RAM tests really slowed things down. I finally streamlined the test to write a magic 23-byte sequence to specific memory locations. As mentioned here, there are almost no problems with the chips themselves; just make sure there are no data/address line short-circuits.
