... are working based on standard object files such as OMF51 (a more perfect solution is the ELF/DWARF format which contains much more information than OMF, but that's unusual in the '51 world). At least in theory, these tools are NOT dependent on the particular whereabouts of a HLL (or even asm), unless its producer wants to lock them to a particular toolset.

As far as I can judge from Igor's remarks, he intends to produce OMF51, too.
