#157434 - Dead Micro? |
I have an OKI 85C154 piggy-back micro. (I'm an inveterate scrounger, so I'm not sure where I got it: most definitely NOT from a supplier! :D ) I wanted to try it out, so I have Vdd & Vss connected, /EA is tied to Vdd, and RST is tied to Vss through a 10uF tantalum cap. There's a 6MHz crystal on the proper pins, with 22pF caps going to ground on either leg of the crystal. The 32Kx8 EPROM has a program burned in; this program DOES run on my Avocet AvSim51 simulator. It raises the Port 3.0 - 3.3 pins sequentially (1-2-4-8 pattern) and repeatedly.
The crystal is oscillating, according to my DS O'scope, but the port pins are NOT toggling. All this to ask, was there some Magic I've forgotten about in the last 10 years since I worked with an 8051? Or is it a case of "He's dead, Jim." -- time to chuck the micro and move on (Gasp! Sob!) TIA, --Rich |
