I was wrong. The chip is an AMD 27C128 -- 16kx8. Oops. So far I've replaced an 80C32 with the 85C154 -- with no problem -- in an ancient HTE DryICE. The piggy-back EPROM checks O.K., so I'm starting to suspect something with the piggy-back interface. <Sigh. Followed by a BIG sigh.> --Rich |
