I checked the data sheet and it seems to apply to the B devices. But then perhaps MicroChip do not manufacture the non-B devices any more.
I can see that there is no economic sense in using two 24C08 when one 24C16 would be cheaper. In which case you just do not populate your board. However does this mean that the 24CxxB devices ONLY respond to a slave address of 0xA0 ? And if you had previously had a 0xA0 device like a PCF8583 on the same bus with a 0xA6,0xA2 pair of eeproms, you have got to resolve a hardware conflict. David. |
