#158619 - '669 is DIFFERENT
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Erik (and Pratibha),

the '669 is very, very different from the '662-'664-'668 line (the latter being only a very simple larger-memory extension of the Rx2's). The '669 is the only publicly traded member of the "MX" line of Philips, with a significantly extended architecture.

This, among others, adds a handful of new memory spaces. In fact, of the 2kB, 3/4kB goes to "internal XRAM", and the rest goes to something they call EDATA, which does include the "classical" 256 bytes, but above that (i.e. 1kB), it can be used only through the newly added instructions (and the stack can sit there, too). I have no idea whatsoever how to access it using Keil or any other tool - I have never used these beasts, just out of curiosity read the datasheet and other material.

Just a note: IIRC, the'669 is already discontinued.
