#158737 - Not quite Responding to: ???'s previous message |
* indications are, that they sell relabelled chips from a competing manufacturer - SST - I have talked about it too many times already
* they discontinued the 'C66x (x=2, 4, 6, 8) line, with a 'V' replacement only for the first 3 - unhappy customers apparently made them to reinstate the 'C668 later. * how long has it been a decent '51-based appnote or datasheet has appeared? The list of documents in the '51 folders on the website contains quite a lot of ARM-specific material... What is it if not decline of the general-purpose-sold-over-the-counter '51-s at the once second biggest '51 manufacturer? I am NOT an insider, though; and may be terribly wrong. I wish I would be. On the other hand, they have an MX-based smartcard line. And, IMHO, smartcards are one of the best businesses in today's semiconductor industry - hence, I don't believe they are going to drop the MX as such. JW |
