#160761 - assembler Responding to: ???'s previous message |
The assembler that comes with SDCC is based on an old asxxxx version. It can create relocatable objects and also comes with a linker. Those are essential for working with libraries as any C compiler needs to do. Metalink and other free assemblers can only assemble one big file AFAIK. But they often do support macros which asxxxx does not and that is why I recommended against using it for pure assembler development. Its syntax is also a bit different from what you may be accustomed to with 8051's. |
