How do you imagine the FT245 to transfer 10MBytes/second over a USB 1.1 connection which works natively at 12MBits/sec? You have your numbers wrong. The FT245 can do 1 MByte/s and even that is hard to achieve. So the new device is definately more capable than its predecessor.
