#161037 - I'm not so sure ...
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Since this problem doesn't occur except with USB disk drives, i.e. if I use any other drive, it works fine ... well, you get the idea ... The "good old" EPP worked fine ... and was capable of about 16 kByte/second sustained transfers, so long as Windows was left out of the equation.

It's not a problem with disk drives, but if you want to use a USB interface, well, as an interface to your computer, and not just as a disk drive channel, then you need to be assured that the data transfers take place in a timely manner. At today's speeds, "timely" would probably mean somewhere between 0 and 200 ns from when they occur at the interface, and not half a minute.
