I personally don't see Palm as being any kind of "competition" for 8052 projects. I guess there are some 8052 projects that might now be better served by a Palm, but I think most 8052 embedded projects are truly embedded and wouldn't require nor benefit from somehow porting them to a Palm.

8052s and Palms. Apples and oranges. Cats and dogs. Lawyers and honest people. You get the idea.
