Again, I agree Palm is a very attractive option for many applications. But there are many embedded applications that don't need or benefit from a Palm system. Most CD players, DVD players, microwave ovens, air conditioner controllers, car ECMs, postal sorting machines, the MCUs inside of keyboards, and the list goes on.

There are so many things that the 8052 has, can, and will continue to do that even if you take the "high-end" market away from 8052's and give it to Palm, there's still a huge market for 8052 processors and related development.
