"whether you have tried Rabbit2000 up. It's a pretty nice processor and look very much alike like the Z180." It is a Zilog Z180. Zilog's foundry makes them for the Rabbit people. Zilog has been big on selling their chips for foundary modifications - I can't say that this policy has been good for Zilog. They've had a bad President for years who was recently edged out. I consider Zilog to be the APPLE COMPUTERS of the microprocessor industry: They had it all and let it slip away due to poor business decisions. Regarding Radio Lans: "the radio link to your company ethernet and 802.11b or maybe Bluetooth ?" :) Since the communications standards are still fluid, I'll take the new, inexpensive hardware components and do our own secure communications. Standards are bad because it means anyone that can hack the standard, can hack your system too. Security is increased with every departure from standards. I just saw a journal article last month talking about the warning I gave years ago regarding radio LANs (Bluetooth et al)... "Drive-by Hackers are infiltrating corporate LANs through their radio links." It was destined to happen with their sloppy designs. -aka j, duh, et al |
