I am aware that the controller can be used in this manner but I would like to know whether there are any sfr's that need programming etc before the 87c51 will operate as such. I've gone through a few datasheets and none seem to indicateanything like that but when I hook an unprogrammed sst89c58(not quite an 87c51) to a test board with EA tied to Vcc, the address lines go mad. I haven't had a chance to get a windowed 87c51 yet, but I'd like to be aware of any quirks before I begin.
