Why NOT BASIC, at least as an option, THATS how Stamp PICs have sold by the trashcan full ! Just about every shcool in the UK that does any kind of electronics classes is using the damned Stamp.

You don't necessarily need to add ADC, or DAC functions, just a library to a PWM routine, or one of Charles Bannisters little comparator based DACs, which are good for 8 bits, which again is how the Stamps can score.
